In the morning, while going to bed, my gaze strays out of the bedroom window and what do I see: NLCs! So I get out the photography stuff, set up as best possible and as far northerly as possible at the window and get what shots I can. Result to the left. Proud as a lion, I naturally send the picture to my colleagues at the observatory. Ralf Biegel sends back the picture on the right. Oh well. He does have a clear location advantage, and I really did not feel like driving out at three in the morning. A few older NLC pictures by myself are here, by the way.
